Located at the south end of the Texas A&M University-Texarkana grounds, the Building for Academic and Student Services responds to the contextual environment and is sensitive to the community. Establishing a gateway to the campus, the building — carefully placed along major axes — serving as an extension of the existing framework while making a strong, modern statement. The landscape design utilizes a variety of drought-tolerant and native plant materials with a variety of texture and color. The hardscape also incorporates decomposed granite, brick pavers and concrete materials strategically chosen for their durability and architecturally complementary aesthetic.
