Veramendi is a thoughtfully designed, 2500 acre residential development in New Braunfels, Texas. The development includes amenities for residents of all ages, with multiple community parks that offer an exceptional landscape experience and imbue the area with a sense of place.
Coleman and Associates was involved in all phases of landscape design for Veramendi, from conceptualization to construction administration for the development’s signage, temporary welcome center, neighborhood parks, streetscapes, and tree placement in residential spaces. In the Veramendi parks, C&A’s design integrates traditional elements like pavilions and playscapes with experiential features such as pollinator gardens and walking trails; curated planting defines zones for play and recreation as well as respite and the observation of area views.
Throughout the project, special attention was paid to materials and sourcing to ensure that the landscaping remains cohesive and reflects the natural character of the area. Native grasses are used throughout the planting scheme, and the limestone boulders on the site are locally sourced.
