The new high-end Loren Hotel at Lady Bird Lake and rooftop Nido Restaurant draws Austin residents and tourists alike thanks to the stunning design and unbeatable view of the lake. Coleman & Associates contributed to the ambience of the hotel and restaurant by adding greenery throughout, culminating in an extensive living roof. A gracious motor court welcomes guests with lush foliage (and a smile from the valet attendants), providing a taste of what awaits visitors inside and upstairs. Well-designed planters lining the streetscape and motor court offer a dual purpose of screening unsightly utilities while offering additional space for planting. Sustainability was at the front of mind when developing the landscape design for this property, accented by two rain gardens and water harvesting measures. Scope for the hotel also included the 8th floor pool terrace, complete with abundant planting on all sides.
