Located in the redeveloped mixed-use Bell District, the new Cedar Park Public Library is a gathering spot and collaboration destination for the community. The exterior experience emphasizes sustainability and outdoor programming. Landscape features include an amphitheater, natural stone custom water fountain, interactive children’s courtyard, outdoor reading area, pollinator garden, and open lawn. These outdoor spaces allow for programming to extend beyond the walls of the library, encouraging children to interact with nature. Native planting was incorporated around the building, and preserved trees allow for viewing opportunities from the second-story screened reading porches. Coleman & Associates’ scope included landscape, hardscape, and irrigation design.
