LEED Silver Certification
AEGB 4-Star Rating
With the highest budget on the 2017 AISD Bond, the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders required a full modernization to provide 21st century learning amenities and sustainable features. The Design Team prioritized collaboration with relevant stakeholders including students, faculty/staff, parents, and community members to represent the unique culture of the school in the new facility. The modernized building can accommodate over 1,000 students from 6th through 12th grade and provides a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. Overhead doors open up indoor learning spaces to the flexible exterior patios. A learning courtyard offers communal space for art and STEM projects and is overlooked by one of the preserved heritage oak trees on-site.
The Ann Richards School received an Austin Energy Green Building 4-Star Rating and LEED Silver certification from the United States Green Building Council. As a women-owned and women-led firm, Coleman & Associates is particularly proud to have worked on this school, named for the 45th Governor of Texas, that supports future women leaders.
